    Work on your 'Biologic Age'

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the Betty and Bill column. We hope to provide you with useful hints to help you understand and take full advantage of the dramatic increase in lifespan we are all part of.

Betty and I share a dream and conviction that we too often allow others to define our age as simply the number of years since we were born- our "chronological age."  In so doing, we and they overlook the remarkable opportunities that we all have to take responsibility for our own health and happiness in later life.  We all have the power to influence our "biologic age."

Betty and I strongly believe that , simply put, "aging" is a way of describing where we are in terms of our own personal growth development which began when we were born.

We believe, therefore, that aging is different for each and every one of us.  Our individual attitudes and action can make a very large difference in our own happiness and our value to others.

Absolutely essential to the notion of "taking charge" is getting that body of yours active. Even if you have not exercised it much in the last 40 years we are here to show you fun ways to increase your flexibility and increase your strength and endurance for daily tasks with plenty of energy left over.

We will also provide information on the common medical problems we all face, and answer any questions readers may send us.

Now, pick up that body of yours and get going!
